AtticSalt is looking for a seasoned writer with a track record of clever copy, outside-the-box thinking, and a keen understanding of brand strategy and positioning. This role will have the responsibility of shaping the verbal identity of our client’s brands and also contribute ideas to brand naming and strategic direction and visual identity. Must understand the stark difference between short-form & long-form copy and have the ability to execute both well. (In short: Know branding. Love words. Appreciate brevity. Get results.)
In addition to copywriting for a wide variety of clients, the Messaging Strategist will be responsible for most of AtticSalt’s content strategy and long-form copy. Must be able to systematically manage multiple projects at once and have a proven track record of writing copy that converts.
Work with our brand strategy team to name products and companies, write brand storylines, verbal identities for AtticSalt clients
Participate in discovery workshops to extract insights from clients that will shape the future of their brand’s messaging and creative direction.
Translating research and strategy into original copy that impacts our clients’ business in a meaningful way.
Manage all AtticSalt projects, timelines, and clients at once using Asana, Slack, Google Drive, and Dropbox.
Direct communication with clients for coordination or project updates
Lead a weekly project status meeting – where projects are on the timeline and what’s due for the week
In charge of content strategy & creation of all written AtticSalt content:
Identify interesting topics, and develop monthly and quarterly content calendars.
Strategize and write biweekly articles or guest blogs.
Plan, write, and collab with the design team to create and send a monthly newsletter using MailChimp.
Demand gen: work with the design team to write and create a monthly downloadable guide or checklist that will be added to our blog and distributed through email and social platforms.
What we’d like to see
Studied psychology, journalism, marketing, or just became an expert through the school of hard knocks– doesn’t really matter how you got here, so long as you can walk the talk.
Keen understanding of brand strategy or consumer behavior/psychology
2+ years of working experience at an agency in a strategic writing capacity.
A proven track record of writing brand stories, positioning statements, and website copy
Experience in developing content for demand gen or social engagement. (Writing for Email, SEO, Linkedin)
